Thread lift, also known as the use of facial lifting threads, is a procedure designed to support sagging along the face, brows and jaw-neck line without surgical incisions. The procedure uses medically certified threads (most often PDO and specially designed lifting threads). Placed beneath the skin along pre-planned lines using a fine cannula or needle, the threads mechanically lift the tissue while also stimulating collagen production in the area. This aims to provide both an immediate sense of support and tissue reinforcement that develops over time.

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and usually takes 30-60 minutes. As it is not a surgical method, returning to daily life on the same day is possible for most people. Threads can be applied with different techniques; approaches such as the French Lift Technique, Single Thread Lift and Dissolvable Thread (PDO) are evaluated according to the person's tissue structure and degree of sagging. The effect appears gradually and is not permanent; while the duration varies by thread type and individual, it generally falls within a range of several months to about one to two years. 1. Consultation and Examination: Facial tissue, degree of sagging and expectations are assessed; the suitable thread type and technique are planned individually.
2. Preparation: The treatment area is cleansed, markings are made, and local anesthesia is applied to numb the area.
3. Application: Using a fine cannula or needle, the threads are placed beneath the skin along the planned lines and the tissue is gently lifted upward.
4. Shaping and Check: Symmetry and the balance of the contours are evaluated, and any necessary fine adjustments are made.
5. Information and Aftercare: Care recommendations and points to watch for are explained, and a follow-up plan is set.

• First hours: Mild tightness, tenderness or redness may appear at the treatment sites; this sensation usually eases within a short time.
• First days: Slight swelling, bruising or small dimpling at the entry points may occur; these settle over time.
• First week: Avoiding extreme facial expressions, vigorous massage and sleeping face-down is advised; the sense of lift begins to become clearer.
• Following weeks: Tissue support from collagen stimulation develops gradually and the appearance begins to settle.
• Follow-up: At the planned check-up the results are evaluated and recommendations updated if needed.

Although thread lift is generally a well-tolerated procedure, as with any application there may be temporary effects and rare risks. Pre-procedure examination and selecting a suitable technique help reduce these possibilities.

• Temporary swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising at the treatment sites
• Temporary dimpling at the entry points or a slight sense of surface irregularity
• A temporary feeling of tightness in the first days that may be more noticeable with facial expressions
• Rarely, asymmetry, feeling the thread or an appearance different from what was expected
• Rarely, signs of infection; in such cases a physician should be consulted
